Some hospitals use a MEDICAL RECORDS Service. The companies store the old records. These companies do the search through the old records and then send that out to you. One such company known to do business with Colorado hospitals is:

Most often those in a nursing home no longer can be found through the means used to find others. they just don't show up in a database any more. If they do show up it will be at an old address and not at the nursing home.
If after a thorough search you still can not find a person you might contact nursing homes to see if they are a resident at one of them.
